Utah Youth Orchestras
& Ensembles (UYOE)

Since 1986, Music Director and Conductor Barbara Scowcroft's vision has been to educate and inspire young musicians through exceptional ensemble training and performance opportunities in classical music.

As Utah's first youth symphony, founded in 1957, Utah Youth Orchestras and Ensembles have nurtured thousands of talented musicians ages 12-21 with coaching and development by the area's finest professional conductors and musicians.

Updates

2018-2019 Season

We are pleased to announce our 2018-2019 season.

Rehearsals will begin on September 14th for the Utah Youth Philharmonic and on September 15th for the Utah Youth Symphony and the Utah Youth Junior Symphony. The repertoire for the winter concert will include Beethoven Symphony no. 7 for the UYPhil and Beethoven Symphony no. 5 for the UYSO.

AUDITIONS

Auditions are still open for the upcoming year. Everyone is encourage to apply. For your convenience audition videos may now be sumbitted online. Please follow the instructions here, or under the Audition tab at the top of the page.

Weekly Update

Rehearsals for September 21st and 22nd for all three orchestras will all be at the regular times and locations.

College Credit Applications For The University of Utah

Yearly Deadlines July 1 and November 1

Applications are for those who would like to receive college credit for Utah Youth participation (grades 10-12 only).
