Utah Youth Orchestras
& Ensembles (UYOE)

Since 1986, Music Director and Conductor Barbara Scowcroft's vision has been to educate and inspire young musicians through exceptional ensemble training and performance opportunities in classical music.

As Utah's first youth symphony, founded in 1957, Utah Youth Orchestras and Ensembles have nurtured thousands of talented musicians ages 12-21 with coaching and development by the area's finest professional conductors and musicians.

2018-2019 Season

We are pleased to announce the Utah Symposium for Double Bass.

The Utah Symposium for Double Bass (USDB) will be June 7th-9th and will feature three days of workshops with many of the foremost bassists of our time. For more information please click on the USDB tab above.

Alumni Recital featuring JD Hunter!

UYO&E is proud to present former Utah Youth Symphony Concertmaster JD Hunter in recital on May 13th at 7:00, in Libby Gardner Concert Hall. For more information please visit the events tab above.

Weekly Update, April 26th and 27th.

The Utah Youth Philharmonic and Symphony rehearsals will both be at the usual times and locations. The Junior Symphony rehearsal will be at the LDS Church at 589 E 18th Ave, Salt Lake City, at the usual time, 9-10:30. PLEASE BRING A MUSIC STAND.

2018-2019 Young Composers Project

The next Young Composers Project workshop will be on April 27th. The program is open to everyone and is free of charge. For more information and the full schedule please refer to the Young Composers tab in the Members section.

College Credit Applications For The University of Utah

Yearly Deadlines July 1 and November 1

Applications are for those who would like to receive college credit for Utah Youth participation (grades 10-12 only).
