Utah Youth Orchestras
& Ensembles (UYOE)

Since 1986, Music Director and Conductor Barbara Scowcroft's vision has been to educate and inspire young musicians through exceptional ensemble training and performance opportunities in classical music.

As Utah's first youth symphony, founded in 1957, Utah Youth Orchestras and Ensembles have nurtured thousands of talented musicians ages 12-21 with coaching and development by the area's finest professional conductors and musicians.

Updates

2018-2019 Season

We are pleased to announce our 2018-2019 season.

Rehearsals will begin on September 14th for the Utah Youth Philharmonic and on September 15th for the Utah Youth Symphony and the Utah Youth Junior Symphony. The repertoire for the winter concerts will include Beethoven Symphony no. 7 and the Lieutenant Kijé suite by Prokofiev for the UYPhil, and Beethoven Symphony no. 5, "The Moldau" by Smetana, and Danzon no. 2 by Marquez for the UYSO.

Weekly Update

Rehearsals for October 12th and 13th for UYPhil and UYSO will be sectionals, both at the regular times and locations. The UYJSO rehearsal will be at the regular time and location.

College Credit Applications For The University of Utah

Yearly Deadlines July 1 and November 1

Applications are for those who would like to receive college credit for Utah Youth participation (grades 10-12 only).
