Dear Utah Youth Orchestras!

Welcome to week seven –

Food for thought for Anton Bruckner – he was highly criticized for his style of music. Some of the most influential critics of his time simply did not understand it.
Yet, Bruckner held fast to what he felt his  gifts were, and he deeply leaned in to his inspiration and blocked out the uninspired voices of the critics to create some of the most extraordinary music we are privileged to play.

That’s a cool thought.

Stay true. Stay original.

Looking forward to this weekend!

Love,

Barb

ESPN College Game Day is filming this weekend in Presidents’ Circle. Exciting, but problematic for us! Expect difficult parking and increased traffic this weekend. Presidents’ Circle is completely closed on both Friday and Saturday. Please allow extra time to get to rehearsal and to park. Try parking north of the building – along the park, or up in the garage on 100 S.

Utah Symphony has generously offered us tickets again this weekend. Please respond by tomorrow (Friday) at noon if you’d like to go! Don’t forget to tell me which night, and how many tickets you’d like.
